Framework: User Manuals
Best for: Individual and group settings
When to use it: When someone new joins your team, when you start a new project with new team mates and/or new clients to get to know them better. It’s also useful to review user manuals before giving feedback to a team mate.
Purpose: To establish a better understanding of your own motivations, triggers and needs in a visual way that you can then share with your managers and colleagues, to enable stronger connections and better collaboration.
How to:
Copy the template into your miro space and make a board for each of your teammates.
Ask each team member to complete each box of the user manual with their personal preferences and what helps them work at your best. To help with this think about the following:
When was a day you worked at your best?
When was a day that you didn't feel so great?
Consider what was happening on these days, including where you were working, who with, and what happened during the day to make you feel that way.
Once completed, share with your team and encourage them to do the same. Create space to ask questions to each other to learn more about each other
Decide where to store your user manuals and how they should be used on an ongoing basis, e.g. new joiner onboarding, meeting prep, project setup, etc.
